The D'Tigers Eases Past Kenya In 2021 FIBA Afrobasket Second Group Game

The Nigeria D'Tigers on Friday whacked Kenya 71-55 in their second group game of the ongoing 2021 FIBA Afrobasket holding in Kigali, Rwanda.

The game was played at the Kigali Arena.

Utomi Daniel led the scoring chart with 17 points while Mordi Jeremiah scored 10 points.

The West Africans who won their opening group game against Mali 81-73 on Wednesday, dominated the encounter right from the start to finish. 

The Nigerians started the first quarter on a brilliant note and finished it with a 12 points lead to win the quarter 20-8.

The D'Tigers who did not give the Kenyans any space to operate, won the second quarter 34-26 heading into the second half.

At the start of the second half, the West Africans did not give the Kenyans any breathing vacuum as they outplayed them to win the 3rd quarter 49-39.

The D'Tigers continued their dominance as they won the fourth quarter, to end the encounter 71-55.

This is Nigeria's second consecutive win after beating Mali in their previous game.

Nigeria will play Cote d'lvorie in their last group match on Sunday, August 29 at the same venue.
