Real Madrid started the season with only one major signing in David Alaba and there were a lot of departures in the last summer transfer window, and reports have it that there will be more in the next winter transfer window.

Real Madrid visited the Mestalla stadium on Sunday to play against a tough side, Valencia, for their fifth round of the 2021/2022 La Liga Santander season. The game resulted in a 2-1 victory for Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid team.

The royal whites were behind in the game until Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema's duo saved the day for the Los Blancos. Goals from Vinicius Junior in the 86th minute and Karim Benzema in the 88th minute earned the whole three points for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have won again at the Mestalla stadium after three years and twice in seven years.

Below is a list of 3 changes Carlo Ancelotti needs to make:

- Luka Modric - Casemiro - Fede Valverde is not viable

Casemiro was totally off in the game. Maybe the Brazilian defensive midfielder needs some time off to get back to his former self. Casemiro has been playing consistently since the beginning of the season and it is showing that he needs some rest.

The midfield trio of Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Federico Valverde can not sustain the team. Camavinga deserves to get in between them. Hopefully, things will change when Toni Kross returns from injury

- Miguel Gutierrez over Nacho Fernandes

One of the most dynamic players on the team, Nacho Fernandes can play in any position on the backline. The Spanish defender makes a lot of mistakes when he is deployed as the left-back.

Carlo Ancelotti chose him over Miguel Gutierrez due to the lack of experience of the academy player, but Miguel Gutierrez deserves to start ahead of Nacho at the left-back position till Ferland Mendy returns.

- A new defender in January

Another area that needs to be changed is the central defensive position. Eder Militao's performance has been below par this season when compared with his performance towards the end of last season.

Eder Militao was beaten on different occasions against Valencia which resulted in Thibaut Courtois being exposed more often than necessary.

An elite defender should be considered in the winter transfer window to provide competition for the Brazilian defender.
