Meet 4 WWE Wrestlers That Are Originally From Nigeria (Photos)

1. Apollo Crews

Sesugh Uhaa Mumba, professionally known by his ring name Apollo Crews, is a 33-year-old American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE.

His career in the world of wrestling kicked off in 2009. He came to limelight in 2011 when he was signed by the Dragon Gate USA promotion.

He was signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) six years ago in 2015, and was assigned to the NXT brand, where he was given his present ring name, Apollo Crews. He got a promotion to WWE's main roster in 2016, where he won the United States Championship last year and later won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 37.

Although he was born in Sacramento, California, United States of America, both of his parents are Nigerians from Vandeikya Local Government of Benue State.

2. Ezra Judge

Ezekwesiri Nduka Jr, popularly known by his ring name Ezra Judge, is an American former gridiron footballer and wrestler currently signed to WWE.

Nduka was previously a gridiron footballer and a professional body builder before he was signed by the WWE two years ago.

Born on 28 August 1988 in Dallas, Texas, Nduka is originally from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria.

Three months ago, Nduka was released from his WWE contract.

3. Commander Azeez

Babatunde Aiyegbusi, popularly known by his ring name Commander Azeez, is a 32-year-old Polish professional wrestler who has been signed to WWE since 2016.

He previously represented a number of teams in the Polish American Football League, and had a brief career with the Minnesota Vikings during the 2015 preseason.

Five years ago, he joined the WWE Performance Center as part of a new class of recruits. He made his professional wrestling debut at a NXT house show in Orlando, Florida on September that year, competing in a battle royal. In April 2018, Babatunde started to accompany Lio Rush to the ring at NXT live events until Rush was called up to the main roster as part of 205 Live. Babatunde made his wrestling televised debut on April 27 at the Greatest Royal Rumble, entering the match as the 37th entrant and was eliminated by Braun Strowman.

Four months ago, he helped Apollo Crews defeat Big E in the Intercontinental Championship match when he came into the ring during the Night 2 of WrestleMania 37.

Born on 26 May 1989 in Oleśnica, Wrocław Voivodeship, Poland, Babatunde Aiyegbusi is paternally a Nigerian as his father, a Medical doctor, is from Nigeria and his mother, a nurse, is of Polish descent.

4. Omos

Tolulope Jordan Omogbehin, professionally known by his ring name Omos, is an American wrestler and former college basketballer.

After playing College basketball from 2014 to 2015, Omogbehin was signed to WWE in January 2019. Seven months later, he made his first WWE wrestling appearance during the house show. Last year, he made his televised WWE debut during the episode of Monday Night Raw, where he was presented as a surprise member of Akira Tozawa's ninja faction.

After the cancellation of Raw Underground last year, Omogbehin became AJ Styles' associate. During the Royal Rumble match this year, Omos involved himself by preventing AJ Styles from being eliminated on a few occasions. Omos eliminated Big E and Rey Mysterio despite not being in the match.

The 27-year-old wrestler is originally from Nigeria. His parents are Nigerian immigrants in USA.
