AJAX vs DORTMUND: Match Prediction, Preview & Kickoff Time

On Match Day 3 of the UEFA Champions League, Ajax will face Borussia Dortmund in a battle for first place in Group C. Both teams have six points, but Ajax leads due to a higher goal difference.

After a surprise defeat to Utretch, Ajax bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Heerenveen on the road. It was their fourth clean sheet in five games, and they've only conceded a goal in one of those five games. In five games, Ajax has only conceded one goal while scoring 12. They've scored seven goals and conceded only one in their first two games in this group, but both clubs have scored in four of their last seven Champions League games.

Ajax has a poor home record, with five wins and five losses in their last ten Champions League games, and four of the last six games ending in a draw. The last time these two sides clashed was in 2012, and both times Ajax lost.

Dortmund's striker Erling Haaland has returned to full fitness, scoring two goals in a 3-1 win over Mainz. He's already scored 13 goals this season and will be a vital player to watch out for in this game. Dortmund's main concerns are in defence, which won't assist them against an Ajax side that has been scoring a lot. In the last eight games, they have only kept one clean sheet and have scored two or more goals in six of them.

Dortmund has scored two or more goals in seven of the last 11 Champions League games. They've won four of their previous five Champions League away matches and scored two or more goals in four of them. However, they've only kept one clean sheet in that time.

This is the most difficult match these two teams will face from this group in both their home and away matches. They've been scoring a lot recently, and I expect that to continue here. This game will end in a draw.

KICKOFF TIME: The match between Ajax and Borussia Dortmund will go down today at 8PM Nigerian time.
