Liverpool Vs Arsenal: 2 Selection Errors That Made Arsenal Lose Against Liverpool

Ruthless Liverpool thrashed Arsenal 4-0 at Ansfield with the goals coming from Jota, Salah, Mane, and Minamino.

Mikel Arteta's boys put in their best effort but couldn't score even a single goal against Liverpool.

Arteta on the other hand contributed to the loss by starting Tavares ahead of Tierney and Lacazette ahead of Martinelli. Starting these two players was Mikel's mistake in the game against Liverpool.

The left-back defender Nuno Tavares committed a lot of defensive errors in which one of them led to the second goal by Diogo Jota.

Though Kieran Tierney picked up a little knock on the ankle during the international match, Mike Arteta should have started him or at least bring him in the second half considering Liverpool to be a big match.

His (Arteta) decision to give Nuno Tavares a full-time play cost him as the left-back was making defense errors which is very bad in a big match like this.

On the other hand, starting Lacazette and playing him upfront with Aubameyang in a double nine position without wingers is a very bad decision for Mikel Arteta.

Keeping two players upfront needs a striker and one midfielder. Martinelli or Odegaard would have fitted more in that position than Lacazette against Liverpool.
