France was crowned the winner of the Uefa Nations League after beating Spain by 2:1. The both teams performed very well, but poor decisions from the VAR and center referee was the main reason why Spain lost the match.
Spain was humiliated in the final match against France due to poor decisions taken by the center referee which affected them. The team had an excellent performance against his opponent, but the match officials took some drastic decisions against them.
The Spanish team was in control of the game from the beginning of the match till the end as they were the first to score. France kept on pressing hard on them till when Karim Benzema scored. Few minutes before the end of the match, Kylian Mbappe scored a goal to give the French team a 2:1 lead.
The goal scored by Kylian Mbappe was a controversial one, judging from his position. Mbappe was in an Offside position before receiving the ball from his teammate. The ball mistakenly touched Garcia, before he collected it to score the second goal for France.
The Video assistant referee reviewed the Incident, but allowed the goal despite Garcia not intentionally given a a back pass to Kylian Mbappe.
Before the goals were scored, Spain was denied a Penalty after Kounde used his hand to divert the movement of the ball inside the 18 yard box. The video assistant referee reviewed the Incident, but no Penalty was awarded to Spain.
These two decisions clearly affected the performances of the Spanish players during the match. They were demoralized especially when France second the winning goal. The team spirit was down, although they were not able to put themselves together a first till the end of the match, but they could not score after several attempts on France Goalpost as Lloris denied them of those opportunities.
