Gameweek seven of the 2021/22 Premier League season has come and gone, but before we head off on our international break, it's time to choose a team of the week.

We had goals from all matches and it was a quiet matchday for central attackers, with players from every position stepping up to produce the highlights and lead their sides to victory.

This is my best XI from the weekend's games.

1. The goalkeeper and the defenders

Alisson (GK) - Alisson was instrumental in keeping Liverpool in the game against Man City. He produced a few of outstanding saves, allowing his team to gain a point.

Emerson Royal (RB) - Emerson finally looked like the costly star he was advertised as when Tottenham ended their losing streak against Aston Villa.

Diego Llorente (CB) - On his comeback from injury, Llorente not only scored a goal but also defended brilliantly to help Leeds secure their first win of the season.

Trevoh Chalobah (CB) - Chalobah scored another goal and was as impressive in defense as Chelsea defeated Southampton.

Marc Cucurella (LB) - The first guy in England to truly frighten Takehiro Tomiyasu. Against Arsenal, Cucurella was a constant threat on the left side.

2. Midfielders

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - The Dane stepped up and provided the necessary protection for Tottenham's defense against Villa, as well as scoring a key goal.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM) - Completely dominated Man United's midfield and provided the crucial assist for Everton to win a point.

Bernardo Silva (CM) - This season, Silva has been superb as a center midfielder, and he was at his best against Liverpool.

3. Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) - He's currently the top player in the Premier League. He scored an unbelievable goal versus City.

Phil Foden (ST) - Foden danced his way past Liverpool's defenders with ease and shared the Man of the Match award with Salah.

Hee-chan Hwang (LW) - Wolves defeated Newcastle thanks to two great goals from the striker. He's definitely one to keep an eye on as the league progresses.
