Chelsea manager confirms talks to sign 21-year-old forward

Chelsea football club were undoubtedly one of the few active Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window before it was shut down in September.

The North London club are hellbent on challenging the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool for more trophies this season and have added the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Bettinelli to their squad.

However, that has quite worked out well for Chelsea so far as they are currently on top of the Premier League table after racking up 19 points from their first eight league matches.

And despite their bright start to the season, Chelsea remain keen on adding more firepower to their squad and have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The 21-year-old Norway International, who departed Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg to join Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 has been a sensational signing since he made the move.

The young striker was in a red-hot form last season where he scored a whopping 41 goals and registered 12 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.

Erling Haaland has also enjoyed a bright start to the 2021/2022 season and has scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in just 10 appearances so far.

His impressive performances in front of goal is said to have caught the attention of a number of clubs across Europe and according to reports from Daily Mail, Chelsea are also in the mix.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that the Blues are talking regularly about a move for Erling Haaland when the transfer window opens.

That said, it remains to be seen if the Stamford Bridge side will be willing in paying the needed transfer fee to lure Erling Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund in the future.
