Nigerian Players that Scored for Clubs Last Weekend

Some Super Eagles and Super Falcons players scored for their clubs in Europe as football league activities hot up in major leagues.


We look at their goal-scoring feats.

1. Desire Oparanozie (Guingamp 1-2 DIJON, France)

Super Falcons forward, Desire Oparanozie scored her first goal of the 2020-2021 French D1 Archema season last weekend. She scored against her former Club, Guingamp as Dijon defeated them on Saturday. Desire scored Dijon's first goal of the game in their 1-2 away win.

2. Brown Ideye (GÖZTEPE 2-2 Gaziantep, Turkey)

Brown Ideye also scored his first competitive goal for his Turkish side, Göztepe in their 2-2 draw with Gaziantep on Saturday. He scored Göztepe's second goal of the game in the 61st minute.


3. Chuba Akpom and Bright Osayi Samuel (QPR 1-1 MIDDLESBROUGH, England)

Chuba Akpom scored his first goal for Middlesbrough while Bright Osayi Samuel also got on the goal scorers sheet in the English Championship game. 

4. Anthony Nwakaeme (Trabzonspor 3-1 Malatyaspor, Turkey)

Anthony Nwakaeme also joined other Nigerian players in scoring his first league goal of the season. The 31-year-old attacker scored Trabzonspor's third goal in their 3-1 win on Saturday.

5. Rasheedat Ajibade (Lyn 1-1 AVALDSNES, Norway)

Super Falcons forward and former FC Robo Queens captain, Rasheedat Ajibade scored her sixth league goal of the season for her Norwegian Toppserien side, Avaldsnes in their 1-1 draw with Lyn on Sunday. She gave Avaldsnes the lead before Mimmi Matilda Löfwenius equalised for Lyn.

6. Gift Otuwe (Neman 6-1 ABFF U19, Belarus)

Former Super Falcons player, Gift Otuwe also scored for her Belarusian side, Neman. The 36-year-old player scored Neman's first goal in their 6-1 win on Sunday to show that age is just a number.

7. Aniekpeno Udoh (Mariehamn 0-2 KuPS, Finland)

Former Akwa United player, Aniekpeno Udoh scored KuPS's second goal in their 0-2 away win over Mariehamn on Sunday. 

8. Bright Enobakhare (AEK Athens 3-0 Lamia, Greece)

Nigeria Under 23 forward and former Wolverhampton Wanderers player, Bright Enobakhare scored his first goal for Greek side AEK Athens on Sunday. He scored AEK Athens' third goal in the 85th minute.
