Action returned to the English Premier League after the long two weeks international break. The league which happens to be one of the most competitive domestic football leagues in the world, had clubs go head-to-head in match week 8 fixtures.

One of the thrilling games of the match week was the game between Leicester City and Manchester United, the Red Devils fell 4-2 to the foxes at the king power stadium. While the game between Arsenal and Crystal Palace which ended 2-2, brought the match week to an end.

After match week 8 games played, here are the top ranking goalkeepers based on clean sheets and crucial saves made.

Zack Steffen

The absence of the Brazilian goalkeeper, Ederson who was away with his national team for an international fixture, provided Zack Steffen the opportunity to man the goal for Man City.

The 26-year-old American goalkeeper made his first EPL appearance of the season forbthe Cityzens against Burnley over the weekend. He made crucial saves and ensured he kept a clean sheet in the game as well. The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Manchester City.

Caoimhin Kelleher

The situation of things at the Etihad stadium seem to have played out at Anfield as well. Allison Becker was also away on international duties and Liverpool's 22-year-old Irish goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher had to step in to fill in the shoes of the goalkeeper for the first time this season; making his first EPL match appearance for the club in Becker's absence.

The young goalkeeper kept a clean sheet against Watford, as his side trashed their opponents 5-0.

Lukasz Fabianski

The Polish goalkeeper was the star of the game, helping his side clinch all three points against Everton. David Moyes men were able to secure a 1-0 away win over Raphael Benitez Everton. He also kept a clean sheet as well in the game.

Edouard Mendy

The Chelsea goalkeeper continues to man his post solidly, he is like the great wall of China; a strong defensive wall that has proven too strong to be pulled down. The 29-year-old Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy put up a man-of-the-match performance in Chelsea's hard-fought win over Brentford FC.
