The midfielder received the award at a well attended event on Wednesday, December 15th 2020.
Ogu was awarded the Philanthropist of the year, following his roles in empowerment of the youths, especially during the lockdown period.
Ogu became famous for helping the needy in these period and he was one the Nigerian player that joined the #EndSARS protest on the streets of Lagos.
"Yesterday I got this award for my services to the Nation and philanthropist Activities to humanity for the year 2020 from MYMEDIA!! This is for the Youths 💪💪." He said.
The award is a consolation for Ogu who saw his contract with Aladahla Football Club of Saudi Arabia terminated.
The former Hapoel Be'er Sheva of Israel is currently without a club and he's hoping to land a deal when transfer window reopen in January.
