How Referee Controversial Decision Affected Manchester United In EFL Cup Match

West Ham United defeated Manchester United in EFL third round match at Old Trafford. During last weekend, the red devils won West Ham United at London Stadium by 2:1 in their week five EPL encounter. It was not an easy match for both team, but Manchester United narrowly defeated them after Noble could not convert a late minute penalty to a goal.

West Ham United on Wednesday night knocked Manchester United out of EFL Cup by a lone goal scored by Manuel Lanzini at exactly 9 minutes into the game. It was a tough match between the team after what happened last Sunday at London Stadium.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named his lineup, but most of the first team players were not in the lineup. The players who started the match could not stand pressure mounted by the West Ham United team. The home team capitalized on the managers poor starting lineup to revenge what the red devils did to them last Sunday.

Manchester United players were outstanding throughout the match, but they could not win against the home team due to poor decisions from the center referee. Jonathan Moss was in charge of the match, but he could award a penalty to Manchester United when Jesse Lingard was brought down by Noble inside the box. The center referee was supposed to caution the player and award a Penalty to the away team.

His controversial decision is the main reason why Manchester United lost the match against West Ham United. If he would have awarded the Penalty, the red devils could end up playing a draw.
