The race to qualify for the Champions League next season will be up until the last game of the season.
Chelsea currently sits in third place, just one point above fourth and fifth placed Leicester City and Manchester United.
In this article, we will be looking at the possibility of Chelsea qualifying for the top four, with a win against Liverpool in their next Premier League game, having the last game to spare.
Chelsea might slightly be at advantage for the race to qualify for the top four this season, due to the fact that Leicester City and Manchester United would be playing against each other in their last game of the season.
Chelsea remaining two Premier League games would be against Liverpool and Wolverhampton. Leicester City still have to play against Tottenham and Manchester United, while United will play against West Ham United and Leicester City.
Chelsea can almost guarantee their qualification to the champions league next season, if they win their next Premier League game against Liverpool.
Assuming Leicester City and Manchester United also wins their next game against Tottenham and West Ham United respectively, Chelsea could still go on to qualify for the Champions League regardless of what they play against Wolverhampton in their last game of the season, as long as the game between Leicester City and Manchester United doesn't ends up in a draw.
Chelsea needs four points out of six, to guarantee their place in the top four by the end of the season, but three points could still be enough to qualify them, which would depend on the outcome of the game between Leicester City and Manchester United on the last day of the season.
Assuming if the three clubs wins their next game, Chelsea would have 66 points, Leicester City and Manchester United would have 65 points each, if the game between Manchester United and Leicester City avoids a draw, then one team would remain on 65 points, which would make Chelsea remain in the top four even if they lose against Wolverhampton.
But Chelsea would have to be at their best to take all three points away from Anfield, on a day that they will be presented with the Premier League trouphy.
Do you think Chelsea can take all three points against Liverpool?
