Novak Djokovic Through To Singles Quarter-Finals.

Novak Djokovic is through to the quarter-finals of the men's singles at Tokyo 2020 with a 6-3 6-1 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The world number one survived an early scare, saving two break points before taking the initiative by breaking the world number 34 to go into a 3-1 lead.

The rest of the first set went with serve, and Djokovic made his decisive move in the third game of the second set. Davidovich had to take evasive action at the net on the opening point as Djokovic hit a forehand winner, and then the errors flowed from his racket as the Serb broke to love to go 2-1 ahead.

That was the end of the Spaniard's resistance as Djokovic raced to victory in an hour and 23 minutes. Next up for the 20-time Grand Slam winner, seeking the fourth leg of what would be the first men's calendar Golden Slam, is Rio 2016 bronze medallist NISHIKORI Kei.
