OPINION: Why Premier League Teams Struggle To Fill Their Stadiums To Capacity!

The Premier League is the most popular league in the world. It is also touted to be the best league in the world in terms of financial and commercial standpoints but there seems to be something that seems to be scarce in this league.

There is no premier league team that fills its stadiums on a consistent basis. This is largely due to the expensive prices of tickets.

To watch an Arsenal game for instance, tickets could cost as high as £85 which equals around N41,000 for a ticket (one game) and the trend varies across different clubs with the cheapest ticket price you might see anywhere for a premier league game being £30 which values at about N16,000.

Despite Arsenals expensive season tickets, they are averagely keeping their stadium occupied at 83%. In the top six teams, Manchester City have not been able to push its stadium filling beyond the 71%point. It makes them the worst team in terms of capacity utilization.

For the 2019-20 season, a single adult season ticket at a Premier League club can cost you anything from £320 (N156,000) to £1,995 (N972,000) which is extremely on the high side.
