Manchester United won their matchday 5 clash against West Ham United by two goals to one. The win was a hard-fought one but a win is a win. This took the Red Devils to third on the League table with 13 points.
Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace by three goals to nil to climb to the second position in the league with 13 points. They are level on points, the number of goals scored, and the number of goals conceded with Chelsea who occupy the first position by default.
Brighton and Hove Albion who got a shocking 2-1 win against Leicester City are in the fourth position. The win ensured they now have 12 points from 5 games while Leicester City falls to twelfth. Manchester City, who failed to get all three points against Southampton and Everton, who lost again Aston Villa occupy the fifth and sixth positions respectively with 10 points apiece.
Tottenham Hotspur has been brought down to earth after a flying start to the season. Their loss against Chelsea means that they are still without a point since league football resumed after the international break. The Spurs occupy the 7th position. West Ham and Brentford are tied on eight points, Aston Villa took their points for the season to seven points with the win against Everton, and Watford, Leicester City, and Arsenal are all on six points.
