Belgium wasted two (2) goals chances scored in the first half against France in the semifinal of the UEFA Nation League as the team lost the game by 3-2 goals. It is no longer news that Theo Hernandez scored a late minute goal to secure a final for France with Spain on Sunday night.
Belgium will play Italy that also lost to Spain by 2-1 goals in third place in the competition on Sunday afternoon. Italy whose thirty-seven (37) games unbeaten run was ended by Spain will want to bounce back to their winning ways. The question is can Belgium win the game against a formidable Italy?
First of all, considering the players in the two (2) teams, that is, Belgium and Italy, the Italian national team is more compatible and experienced than Roberto Martinez side, Belgium whose players play individual ball rather than a team game. Unfortunately for Belgium, Eden Hazard might not play the game which is an added advantage for the Italian team.
With the possible absence of Eden Hazard, Chelsea FC midfielder, Jorginho and Marco Veratti will give Belgium midfielders a tough time. The moment Romelu Lukaku did not receive the ball from the midfielders, he finds it difficult to score. It would be recalled that the Italian team hardly concede goals.
Also, Federico Chiesa and Lorenzo Insigne are two (2) versatile players who will bring a threat to Belgium defenders. With their strength and speed, it will be difficult for Belgium defenders like Toby Alderweired and Jan Vertonghen to withstand these two players.
Which national team will you prefer to win the game: Belgium or Italy? Kindly drop your comment below.
