Chelsea's next six games in all competitions, before the November international break, appear easily winnable now that Brentford is out of the way. Of course, those could be famous last words, but if we are to have any realistic hopes of having a successful season, we must win six games in a row: three in the league (Norwich, Newcastle, Burnley), two in Europe (Malmö twice), and a League Cup fourth-round encounter against Southampton.

On Wednesday, the first of two Malmö games will be played. The Swedish champions have lost both of their group games by a combined score of 7-0, and we must continue to add to their anguish, especially following our loss to Juventus last time out.
After a weekend in which a makeshift backline kept a clean sheet by the skin of their teeth and the blessed hands of Édouard Mendy, we have as many as three players newly fit and available. Yesterday, Antonio Rüdiger, Thiago Silva, and Hakim Ziyech resumed training. Christian Pulisic continues to go overlooked, and it's possible that he's just a figment of our imagination at this point.
