Football is a very beautiful game to watch with millions of fans worldwide. They are many teams in different leagues to choose from and support passionately.
Aside that, it seems that some players are just meant to play and succeed together no matter where they found themselves. These players are:
Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard.
These two players have found themselves playing for the same team for the majority of their career-The Belgium national team, Chelsea and now Real Madrid. The two have won titles and honours together on several occasions.
Courtois signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2011 from Belgian side Genk, but was immediately loaned to Spanish side Athletico Madrid as he was unable to bench the legendary Petr Cech.
In his three years with Athletico Madrid, he won the Laliga, Spanish cup and the Europa league cup, as well as a runner-up medal in the Champions league.
We can say he had a very successful time in Madrid.
Hazard on the other-hand, was signed a year later from French side Lille in the summer of 2012. He has already made his name known as a young dazzling play maker, so chelsea wasted no time in signing him.
Hazard didn't fail to impress, as he was a nightmare for defenders of opposition teams and his reputation was further praised.
Unlike his Compatriot, major trophies eluded Hazard in his first few seasons at the Bridge, but that didn't stop him from becoming the best player maker in England at that time.
2014---The year it all started.
The arrival of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea for a second spell meant that Courtois time in Spain was truly over, as the young goalkeeper was recalled to replace the ageing and under-performing Petr Cech, and he was immediately made the first-choice goalkeeper. That was when the adventure of two Belgians started. Mourinho led the team to a league and cup double, meaning that Hazard finally got his hands on a trophy, and Courtois just added to his collection.
The pair went on to win four trophies together at Stamford Bridge until Courtois moved to Real Madrid in 2018. Courtois had a torrid debut season at Realmadrid, especially when he conceded five goals against Barcelona in the El Classico, but he regained his confidence with impressive performances afterwards.
Real madrid went the whole season without winning any trophy in Courtois' first season.
The 2019/2020 season was one to remember as the club acquired the services of Eden hazard from Chelsea, and once again, the two are playing for the same team!
Even though his campaign for the Spanish Giants was marred with injuries leading to his under-performance, the two Belgians had the last laugh as Real madrid won the 2019/2020 Laliga title.
Kudos to to them both!
