MbeumoChelsea returned to the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Brentford, thanks in large part to Edouard Mendy's late heroics. Ben Chilwell's first-half strike sent Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League.
In the first half, Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo struck the post, while Chelsea's Timo Werner wasted two good chances, but Chelsea went into the halftime break ahead thanks to Chilwell's half-volley from just inside the area (45), his third goal in three games for club and country.
Mendy saved excellently three opportunities late on, first from sub Saman Ghoddos, then from Pontus Jansson at point-blank range with his face, before tipping over Christian Norgaard's magnificent overhead kick in stoppage time.
What do you think about Ben Chilwell's goal today? I will love to see your opinion in the comments section below.
