Following their Europa League defeat to Villarreal during the week, Arsenal disappointed not only their fans alone, but other clubs fans. This is because of the frustrating style in which they got disqualified from the European tournament. They only needed a lone goal to progress to the Finals, but a whole 90 minutes is gone without the Mikel Arteta side finding the back of Villarreal net.
The Europa League is the option left for them to compete in Europe next season after their unimpressive run in the league so far this season, but they have already lose the only apparent option available for them.
Many fans have blamed the club management and mainly the Gunners manager for his team selection, while some others blamed the players for not performing up to expectations.
However, during one of his interviews since their surprising defeats in the Europa League, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta spoke on his planned project for the club. He explained the time frame expected for the project to start yielding results and what is expected from him and the team. He said, "This year is not year one. I think a project has its phases and I am telling you we are in a much better position today to be where we want to be very soon, if we do what we have to do. But we have to be ruthless."
