Portuguese international and forward enigma, Cristiano Ronaldo was in action on Wednesday night for Manchester United in their third game of the UEFA champions league Group F ties against Atalanta at the Old Trafford.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus star was phenomenal in the game having been handed a role to play in his team's starting XI following his outstanding performance for the club since his legendary return to England.
He was able to justify his incluson in the squad as he was at the heart of the forward line which earned him a goal in the five-goal thriller that placed them at the top of the table.
The Red Devils trailed from behind in the first half as they conceded twice going into the half time break courtesy of goals from Mario Pasalic in the 15th minute and Merih Demiral in the 29th minute to make it two nil.
The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in the second half stepped up their game as they got their first of the night in the 53rd minute with a goal from Marcus Rashford to make it two goals to one, before Harry Maguire put his side back into the game with an equaliser in the 75th minute to make it 2-2.
Cristiano Ronaldo in the 81st minute scored the deserved winner for the Red Devils to make it three goals to two at full time, as all other attempts to add more to the tally from both sides were not successful.
Manchester United with the win of the night has now moved to the top of the table with 6 points in 3 games played and as such be looking forward to continuing the winning streaks in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition.
