Weeks after the Chairman Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT, Danladi Umar was filmed assaulting a security guard at Bannex plaza Abuja. The Spokesman for the tribunal, Mr Ibraheem Alhassan who released the statement, following the incident has been fired and replaced on the basis of making grammatical blunders in defense of his boss, the chairman of the CCT.
Mr Alhassan was not only criticised for his blunders, he was also accused of xenophobia and inciting tribal wars, the tribunal also said that they never gave him the authorisation to released the unedited statement. The chief registrar of the CCT confirmed the news today while speaking to the press, that the Spokesperson has been recalled, in his words he said ''he was posted to us, in the first place''; and also revealed that he has been replaced.
Recall, the lawyer to the security guard, Clement Sagwak, who was assaulted, has petitioned the human rights commission over the assault on him, by the chairman of the Code Of Conduct Tribunal CCT, Danladi Umar, the lawyer accused the Chairman of abuse of power, assault, torture and xenophobic actions.
Danladi Umar became the youngest chairman of the CCT at the age of 36, on 11th July 2011, he was appointed as the Chairman of the tribunal, replacing his predecessor Justice Murtala Adebayo Sanni, who died on January 2011.
