The first 45 minutes of the fixture ended on a stalemate, as Athletic Bilboa failed to open the scoring despite their several chances at half time.
Inigo Martinez found the back of the net with a sublime header in the 50th minute to make it 1-0 for Bilboa, before Memphis Depay got the equaliser by sending a left footed strike into the back of the net in the 75th minute to make it 1-1 at full time.
What we learnt after Barcelona drew 1-1 tonight.
The Catalan Giants are far from being potential La Liga winners this season. The team has failed to evolve despite Lionel Messi's exit, as we clearly saw them struggle to create and convert chances from excellent opportunities against Bilboa tonight. If they intend on winning the La Liga and UCL title this season a lot of things needs to be changed about the team, most importantly their gameplay.
