Ex-Chelsea man Tony Cascarino has hailed Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud as the best underrated player in the world. The France international scored the only goal of the game as the Blues beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
“I would say he is the best in the world of the most underrated players,” Cascarino said on the talkSPORT Breakfast.
Chelsea's Olivier Giroud,
1st Season: FA Cup Glory
2nd Season: UEL Top Scorer & Scored Final Opener
3rd Season: Vital EPL Goals To Seal Champions League
4th Season: Perfect Hat Trick & Penalty In Champions League Then THAT GOAL Against Atletico Madrid.
There is certain amount of optimism when he is on the pitch. The intelligence, the runs, the motivation and what a fantastic goal.
Glen Johnson: "Someone like Haaland would be ideal (for Chelsea). He’d be perfect replacement for Giroud. He’s big, quick, powerful, unbelievable in front of goal. Those sort of signings give a lift to the dressing room and it would be a real statement if they could pull it off."
