Ajax, FIFA, La Liga & NFF Celebrates Ex-Super Eagles Winger In Style As He Turns 50

Imagine celebrating your birthday and having your old pals and friends coming together to wish you a happy one. More so when it comes as a Golden Jubilee.

Former Super Eagles winger Finidi George has been remembered by most of his teammates and clubs as he turns 50 years old today.

Finidi George who is regarded as one of the best Nigerian players of his generation was born on the 15th of April 1971.

He went on to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria and played in Europe for Ajax with whom he won the UEFA Champions League in 1995 alongside Kanu Nwankwo.

During his prime, Finidi was ranked as one of the top right-wingers in football. He was fast, skillful, and quick on the ball.

In celebrating the legend who he is, Ajax put up a touchy and emotional video of his former teammates at the club wishing him a happy 50th birthday.

Players like Marc Overmars, Edwin Van der Sar, and even coach Loius Van Gaal all appeared in the video.

Kanu Nwankwo and Nigerian football federation also took to social media to congratulate Finidi George.

Also, world football governing body FIFA remembered Finidi on his birthday.

Spanish football body La Liga alongside Real Betis whom he played for also wished the Super Eagles legend a happy one.

As a member of the Super Eagles, Finidi was active for over a decade, appearing 62 times. He won the Nations Cup in 1994.
