Olympic 2020: Sweden Progresses To The Olympics Final After A Hard Fight From Sam Kerr's Australia

The Women football tournament of the Tokyo Olympics is two matches away from deciding who goes home with the gold medal.

The Semi-final game between Australia and Sweden is the second game of this stage having witnessed Canada record a historic win over the USA through Jessie Fleming's penalty.

Semi- Finals Update

In the wake of what seems like the battle between Chelsea's most trusted players; Magdalene of Sweden and Sam Kerr of Australia, the game goes underway.

Sweden came close to scoring in the 23rd minute when Rolfo long-range shot hit the bar and out it went with the Swede player holding her head in disbelief.

Minutes later, the star player of the Australia team Sam Kerr scored what looks like a powerful header only to be ruled out for a push.

Both sides tried to break the deadlock in the first half with Sweden dominating possession and coming close to scoring but in the end, it was a 0-0 at the break.

A minute into the second half, Sweden took the lead through Rolfo's rebound goal after a belter from a teammate that was saved by the Australian keeper.

Australia pushed hard for an equalizer, with Chelsea's Sam Kerr leading the constant pressure but unfortunately, it was the lone goal that separated both sides.

Sweden, therefore, made it to the Tokyo Olympic finals and will face Canada for the gold medal.
