Andreas Perriera's and Anthony Elanga wonder goals were enough to secure a 2 - 2 draw at Old Trafford for Manchester United against Brentford.
Harry Maguire just came back from the Euros, where he featured in each and every one of England's matches in the tournament. That is why Maguire wasn't present for the match against Brentford because he is still enjoying his international break. Also Maguire is the team captain and since he is not around, other players have to wear the armband until he comes back.
Donny van de beek took charge of the team as captain briefly as they awaited Maguire's return. It occured during yesterday match with Brenrford.
Van de Beek started from a familiar position on the bench – due to a lack of fitness aa he only rejoined the first team group for training on Monday.
Nemanja Matic wore the armband to start as captain in the 2 - 2 draw, but when Donny Van de Beek was subbed into the match with about 15 minutes to go, Matic gave him the captain armband. Manchester United official Twitter handle wrote on their Twitter page after the match, "Good to see you back on the pitch, Donny".
Maguire took to his Twitter Handle to react to the post, saying,"Don't stretch that armband, @donnyvdveek". Check out a screenshot of the tweet below.
