Here Is The List Of Players Mikel Arteta Have Signed Since He Became Arsenal'a Manager In 2019

It has been over two years since Mikel Arteta was appointed Arsenal coach, and since then, he has signed players worth up to £220 million in total.

The Spanish tactician took over the managerial role at the club after Unai Emery couldn't pull the strings together at the club. Upon his arrival at the club, he met an average squad which needed an upgrade. One amazing things Arteta did was that, despite having some fringe players, he was able to guide them to an FA Cup and Community Shield trophy.

As usual, every manager will sell players he doesn't want and bring in players who he thinks will fit into his system of play. Since he took charge, a good number of players have been shown the back door while some players have been brought in.

Let's take a look at the lost of players Arteta has signed since he took charge in 2019.

1. Pablo Mari- £10m

Mikel Arteta worked with the 27-year-old during his time at Manchester City. The lack of game time forces the defender to switch to Brazilain side, Flamengo where he made a name for himself. He was snapped by Arteta for a few of £10 million.

2. Gabriel Magalhães - £27m

The Brazilian young defender is one of the first team signing the coach made. Arsenal won the signature of the Brazilian after going head-to-head with Napoli. The gunners paid £27 million for his signature and so far, it has proven to be a bargain.

3. Thomas Partey - £45m

Thomas signing is considered as one of his best signings so far. It was a difficult yet an easy to deal which was done smoothly. Arsenal paid his release clause in full, but since signing for the club, he has been blighted by injuries.

4. Alex Runarsson - £2m

After Emi Martinez was sold to Aston Villa, Arsenal needed a backup goalkeeper for Leno. Due to the tight finances, a cheap option was considered, hence the club went for Alex Runarsson. He was signed from Ligue 1 side, Dijon for a few of £2 million.

5. Nuno Tavares - £8m

The lack of a left-back backup for Tierney cost Arsenal some valuable points last season. The Injury to the Scotland international made the manager deploy Xhaka to the position, thus distorting the formation. Nuno was sign this summer to address that situation. He was signed for £8 million from Benfica

6. Sambi Lokonga -£20m

Sambi is considered as a player which will provide squad depth for the club. Many see him as a backup for Thomas Partey as he plays similar to the Ghanian. He was signed from Anderlecht for a fee of £20 million.

7. Ben White - £50m

Considered as David Luiz replacement, the English man was signed for a whopping £50 million from Brighton. He will be as a perfect replacement for the Brazilian defender.

Martin Ødegaard £30m (pending) and Aaron Ramsdale £30m (pending) are soon to be completed, and it will bring Arteta's total spending to £220 million.

Is it a good deal?
