4 Players Who Impressed in Manchester United's Comeback Win Against Atalanta

  Manchester United got a hard-earned 3-2 win against Atalanta in the Champions League matchday 3. The match was interesting in every sense as it was very open and end-to-end. Manchester United was two goals down at the end of the first half with Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral scoring in the 15th and the 29th-minute respectively. 

   Manchester United started the second half on fire as they forced Atalanta into making mistakes which led to Marcus Rashford's opening his Champions League account this season. Harry Maguire scored the equaliser after a beautiful Bruno Fernandes cross located him at the far post. The Manchester United captain made no mistake as he put the ball into the net. Five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo was at it again as he scored the goal which took Manchester United to the top of the group. Luke Shaw's tantalizing cross found the Portuguese superstar in the box, who rose highest to head the ball into the back of the net. 

   In the match, four Manchester United players were impressive and their outstanding performances led to Manchester United's victory. They are:

4. David De Gea

  David De Gea was not at fault for the two goals Manchester United's conceded in the first half. After Atalanta's goals, however, he was not called into action for Manchester United for a long time. 

  The Spaniard was however alert when Atalanta came knocking with the score at 2-1. David De Gea pulled off a double save, first saving Duvan Zapata's low strike with his foot before he stopped Ruslan Malinovskiy's strike. This was the turning point in the match as Manchester United went ahead to score the winner and take all three points. 

3. Cristiano Ronaldo

   Manchester United's five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo was instrumental in Manchester United's win as he scored the all-important winner, repeating the trick he pulled off against Villarreal. 

   He always came alive whenever Manchester United attacked and he was a threat all through the match. 

2. Marcus Rashford

  Marcus Rashford continued his impressive form since he returned from injury. He was a thorn in Atalanta's flesh throughout the match and he got a couple of one-vs-one chances which he couldn't score. 

   He, however, scored Manchester United's opening goal, side-footing the ball beyond Atalanta's goalkeeper. 

1. Bruno Fernandes

  The Manchester United Portuguese maestro was at it again as he provided two assists which propelled Manchester United to come from behind. He was a livewire throughout the match and his performance was the reason Manchester United was able to come from behind. 

   The Portuguese superstar now has four assists in three games and he currently leads the Champions League assist-makers' chart.
