Ranking The Top 10 Ballon dOr Contenders Based On Their Statistics So Far In The Current Season

The race for the Ballon d'Or award is still on with many strong contenders putting on superb performances for their club and country since the turn of the year.

With the club football season currently ongoing, superstars who made the list of nominees will see this as an opportunity to rewrite their stories and step up their games ahead of the presentation in December.

However, some of the players have begun their journey to victory by scoring goals and registering assists on the run while others are yet to make an appearance for their clubs.

Without further ado, let's quickly look at the Ten strong contenders and how they have fared since the start of the new season, taking into consideration their number of appearances, shots per goal, pass completion rate, goals scored and assisted and also the minutes played.

10. Lionel Messi (Paris Saint-German)

Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-German from Barcelona after spending 21 years with the Catalans. He won the Copa America with Argentina and is currently working hard to get back on the pitch after a lengthy break.
