Barcelona football club of Spain captain, Irene Paredes was solid yesterday for Spain Women Senior National Team in their last group game of the ongoing UEFA Euro Women tournament against Denmark at the Brentford Community Stadium.
The 31 years old prolific and versatile defender was at the heart of the defence line for the La Rojas Women as she played her part and also contributed her quota with her vast experience which was instrumental in the hard-fought victory coupled with a clean sheet.
Irene Paredes cordinated the defence line with top notch leadership traits which earned their side more of the ball possession that helped them got a late minute winner.
The first half of the game was such a balanced one between the two sides which got it hanged on the balance going into the half time break with nothing to separate them.
The same was the scenario in the second half where the tempo of the game got more heated up as they both put up some dazzling displays but none was able to break the deadlock until the 90th minute, when Marta Cardona gave her side the lead to make it one nil at full time.
Spain having qualified for the knockout stage of the competition as Group B runners-up will be facing England in the quarter finals on Wednesday at Brighton.
