Man United Legend Paul Scholes Should Stop Criticizing Chelsea And Focus On The Problems At United

Paul Scholes Vs Chelsea fans is the latest debate that is ranging on on various social media platforms at the moment. The Manchester United legend is being called out by the Chelsea faithfuls for a post he made about Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. This drama between Chelsea fans and Paul Scholes started earlier last week when Scholes said in a show that Chelsea have the worst defence of anyone in the top 4. The 2008 UCL winner named Varane, Maguire, Van Dijk, Matip, Ruben Dias and John Stones as better defenders than any of Chelsea's defenders despite the fact that Chelsea have conceded the least goals in the league all season.

Scholes statement did not go down well with Chelsea fans and they let him know with their response and comments on social media. Well days after that comment from Scholes, Manchester United lost 4-2 to Leicester city and Chelsea kept a clean sheet against Brentford, their 4th clean sheet of the season. United haven't kept a single clean sheet in a few games now. It's been hours after these two games and Scholes have come out today to further push his agenda against Chelsea's defence. Scholes made a post on his Instagram story asking if Edouard Mendy would be Chelsea's man of the match yesterday if they had a better defence. Here is the post

Chelsea fans on social media were quick to spot this post made by Scholes criticising the Chelsea defence and it erupted into a full debate. Paul Scholes seem to be more interested in happenings at Chelsea than the ones at Manchester United. Time and time again we've seen ex United players like Gary Neville and Paul Scholes come out and criticise Chelsea during their punditry work for Sky Sports. Truth be told, these ex United players get the point straight on at times but there are moments where you feel they are bringing their personal feelings into their work.

Despite the fact that Chelsea might have weaker defenders individually, they are still the best in Europe as a unit. It's something Thomas Tuchel have built up in the last few months but somehow, Paul Scholes is the only pundit not impressed with. Chelsea's defence. The goalkeeper is a part of the defence and if he wins the man of the match after an impeccable performance, it's still a defensive credit for the whole defensive unit. Maybe Scholes don't understand this or it's just Chelsea fans who misunderstood what he actually meant. All the same, he is an ex professional so it's difficult to argue with him even if his views on the topic sounds absurd.

For Scholes, he will definitely get into the bad books of Chelsea fans if he continues making statements and criticisms like this. Better still, talking about the problems at his favourite club, Manchester United is a nice way to start if he is looking for a topic to debate on. After all, they are the ones losing games and conceding goals week in, week out.
