Five experienced players who can still play for Super Eagles

In this feature, we spot the light on experienced Nigeria Footballers who still have what it takes to play for the Super Eagles.

Many feel the current Super Eagles team need experienced players to make them challenge for honours at international level.

Here is the viewpoint on who are the closest players that have the highest probability of joining Gernot Rohr's squad.

5. Sone Aluko - Ipswich Town

The former Fulham star has been undoubtedly, the League One signing of the summer. Aluko outshone all the expectations, scoring three goals in just six appearances with Ipswich.

Aluko should be on Rohr's radar and if he continues his fascinating form.

4. Odion Ighalo - Al Shabab

One of the best strikers in history of Nigeria, Ighalo has been shinning for Al Shabab in the Saudi Arabian Professional League.

He grabbed a brace against Ittihad on Friday. Perhaps Rohr should do all he can to call him out of international retirement.

3. Anthony Nwakaeme - Trabzonspor

Nwakaeme has found himself on Rohr's extra player list due to a poor debut against Algeria in 2017. But the striker has been consistent for Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

2. Victor Moses - Spartak Moscow

The former West Ham United winger is regarded as one of the most talented players in the history of Nigerian football. His dribbles, skills and shots are enough for any coach to place him in the starting eleven.

However, the forward has decided to focus on club duties. It would only be logical to have him on the plane to Super Eagles' future games if all remains the same at Spartak Moscow.

1. John Obi Mikel - Kuwait SC

Obi is most likely to be part of Rohr's plans, especially for the deficiency the national team suffers from, as the midfield is currently faulty and needs immediate repair.

The former Chelsea star is performing for Kuwait SC in the Middle East.
