La Liga

Neither Barcelona nor Messi is finding it easy since both parties parted ways

It is a fact that Messi who is inarguably the most talented player on the planet and arguably the greatest footballer of all time is finding life in PSG a little bit difficult. It is expected that Messi will blossom in Paris but it is taking him long to settle down into the French Ligue Un.

On the other hand, Barcelona isn't finding life without Messi easy either. They just played out a laboured 1-1 draw tonight against Granada at home! With Messi it could easily have been 3-0 or more but without Messi the Catalonian Club is finding it hard to win games.

As things stand now, Barcelona sit 7th on the table with only 8 points from 4 matches meaning they are 5 points behind Real Madrid, their bitter rival. Real Madrid has played one match more than Barcelona though.

As for Messi, expectedly, PSG sits top of the French Ligue Un but with little thanks to the Argentinian who is yet to register his first goal or assist for his new side. This has put his fans on the defensive more so since Ronaldo has scored in every match he has played for Manchester United since he was re-signed.

In fact, Christiano Ronaldo seemingly has caught his second wind as he has found the back of the net 5 times in four matches! He is the one carrying Manchester United literally while Messi is still struggling with a more star-studded PSG which plays in arguably a far less difficult league. Critics often call the French Ligue Un the Farmers' League.

However it is too early to draw any conclusions. Barcelona may go on to do great things this season inspite of the loss of Messi. Ronaldo may run out of gas as the season progresses. Messi may become a sensation in PSG in the days ahead. But as it stands, neither Messi not Barcelona can claim that it has been rosy
