Four Nigerian Players That Deserve A Bigger Club Next Season

The 2020/2021 football season is round off with less than six weeks to go, clubs will be on the lookout for players they can hire to make their team stronger and better against next season because of their impressive performance.

The season has been a good season so far for some Nigerian players, both home and Abroad.

The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Zaidi Sanusi of Leicester City and Porto FC are having a great season.

The latter just signed Porto last season after an impressive season with Santa Clara the previous season while the former has been rewarded with a new three-year contract for a job well done.

Olusolasportspedal takes a looks at other Nigeria players that have been churning out impressive performance this season that deserves a bigger club and subsequently a bigger paycheck as a reward for the efforts put in this season.

 Paul Onuachu

No doubt the biggest revelation this season as far as Nigerian players in Europe is concerned is Paul Onuachu

The tall striker has been scoring for fun since the beginning of the season for his Belgian club Genk FC.

Paul has scored 31 goals in all competitions this season in just 35 appearances. This includes 2 for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and 29 for his club to lead the goal scoring chart in the Belgian Jupiler Liga.

The 26 years old striker has done well for himself this season. It's time for a move to one of the top 5 leagues in the world where his talents can be more appreciated. This will add to his ratings, advance his career as the Belgian league is rated as a second class league.

Simy Nwankwo

Simeon "Simy" Nwankwo is another Nigerian striker that can't stop scoring. He has scored 17 Serie A goals this season with seven of those goals scored in the last 10 games to underline his consistency over the season.

But the lanky striker is a big fish swimming in a small pond in Serie A, playing for FC Crotone.

A club perpetually occupying the last position on the Serie A table and their relegation has been package, only waiting to be delivered.

Simy has done well for himself as his efforts won't be enough to save Crotone from going down.

Having been playing for the club for the past five seasons and even got the team promoted from Serie B to Serie A scoring over 20 goals, It's time for him to jump the sinking ship and join another club in the Serie A or at any of the top 5 leagues in Europe.

Terem Moffi

Terem Moffi is gradually easing Lorient out of the relegation zone with his goals, the 21-year-old who joined the modest French club in October from Belgian KV Kortrijk. He has scored 11 goals in 27 appearances for Lorient to keep them just above the relegation zone.

The club greatly relies on the terrific form of the Nigerian to escape the drop to underline his great form so far.

After early struggles in the season he has settled in and his proficiency in front of goals is not in doubt as he has scored 10 times in the last 17 appearances including the winner against PSG.

Moffi needs at least to stay up in the French Ligue 1 where he can continue to advance his career.

It will be steps backwards for the Intelligent player to go down with Lorient as he has what it takes to play in any top 5 European League.

Anayo Iwuala

Anayo Iwuala is another player with the potentials to become a great player. The diminutive player has been a revelation so far this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League with Enyimba.

He has been the engine room of Enyimba football, creating chances from thin air for the strikers to score.

The player who loves to dribble is a complete package that needs a bigger stage to showcase and improve on his game.

He forced his way into the Super Eagles camp and never disappointed in the few minutes he played in the two matches he played against Benin and Lesotho respectively.

Reports have it that Enyimba FC has slammed a whopping one million euro transfer fee on him, in preparation for his impending transfer away from the Aba based club.

Iwuala has done well so far, he deserves a move to Europe. The Portuguese, Belgian or the Dutch league won't a bad environment to start his European sojourn.

I wish all of them all the best as they await their next career big move
