Arsenal Fans Should Applaud Arteta And Edu For The Incredible Business They Did During The Summer

It is normal for a club to sign players for a certain amount of money and the said player could fail to deliver on the expectations placed on his signing. The football world refers to these types of signings as "Flops" and it has happened to every top club in the world if not all.

When clubs sign "flops", the fans criticize the management for the outcome. But as fans blame the management for "flops", they should also applaud them for every successful signing. This is what I think should happen with the Arsenal fans, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar.

After signing flops like Willian Borges, Cedric Soares and so on, the Arsenal fans should applaud Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar for the signings they made during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

1. Ben White: A lot of criticisms were directed at Mikel Arteta and Edu for spending 50 million pounds on the signing of the English defender. But since his average debut against Brentford FC, Ben White has had great performances consecutively. If he continues to improve, the transfer fee paid for him would look like an absolute bargain.

2. Nuno Tavares: His performance against Aston Villa has almost single-handedly justified the 8 million pounds spent to secure his signature. For the first time in two years, Arsenal didn't feel the absence of Kieran Tierney in the starting line-up.

3. Albert Sambi Lokonga: A very talented and young midfielder. He needs more time to develop his physicality but his ability is obvious. A little refining to his game and he could be a world-class player in a few years.

4. Martin Odegaard: The former Real Madrid midfielder has tremendous ability. He hasn't achieved his top form yet but his gameplay has shown how talented he is.

5. Aaron Ramsdale: Perhaps the bargain of the summer for Arsenal. A large section of the fanbase doubted his ability due to being relegated with former clubs Bournemouth and Sheffield United. The Englishman has been proving his doubters wrong with scintillating performances between the goalposts.

6. Takehiro Tomiyasu: The 17 million pounds Arsenal paid to acquire his services is looking like a bargain already. The Japanese full-back has the perfect blend of attacking and defensive qualities that Arsenal has lacked since the days of Bacary Sagna.

Although Arsenal aren't at the top yet, there is a huge sign of improvement in the squad due to these summer signings. And for this, I think Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar should be applauded by the Arsenal fans for the incredible business they did during the summer.
