UEFA Champions League

3 Times Ronaldo Has Scored A Late Equaliser Or Winner For United In The UCL This Season

1. Against Villarreal (90+5 Minute winner).

After Manchester United's opening day loss to Young Boys, they desperately needed to win their next game. The game was against Spanish side Villarreal on 29th of September. Everything seemed to be going wrong when Villarreal raced into the lead in the second half thanks to Alcácer's 53rd minute goal.

Alex Telles equalised 7 minutes later, and from there the reds found it difficult to get the winner. With the game almost done, Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up in the 5th minute of added time. An instinctive finish from Jesse Lingard's layoff ensured that they win three points to put the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League campaign back on track.

2. Against Atalanta in This First Leg(81st Minute Winner).

Manchester United fell two goals behind at Old Trafford after a woeful first half. They had a lot of work to do in the second half and their top players needed to step up. First Marcus Rashford pulled one back before captain Harry Maguire scored the crucial equaliser for the reds.

With the game heading for a draw, Ronaldo stepped up once again, and he won the game for Manchester United in the 81st minute.

3. Against Atalanta In The Second Leg(90+1 Minute Equaliser).

Manchester United could easily have lost to Atlanta on matchday 4, but Cristiano Ronaldo made all the difference. He scored the first half equaliser to get Manchester United out of trouble. Come the second half, they were in trouble again, and they needed someone to pull them out.

Ronaldo duly stepped up by scoring the important Equaliser in the first minute of added time.

Obviously, Ronaldo has developed a knack for getting Manchester United out of trouble this season. Do you think that he has what it takes to lead them to a trophy win this season?
