Hours before the match between Chelsea and Brighton started, Chelsea fans stormed Stamford Bridge to protest against their team participation in the new European Super League. Chelsea fans brought out banners that sent deep messages with that Chelsea began to make moves to exit the European Super League and they finally left the Super League alongside all other five English Premier League teams that were part of the competition. Some Photos from the protests can be seen below.
Chelsea struggled against Brighton in yesterday's match, the blues barely had a genuine shot on target. The last time they met Under Frank Lampard, Chelsea won Brighton 3-1, it was their first English Premier League game of the season to be precise. Yesterday's mode of play was different from what we've been seeing from Chelsea in recent matches under Thomas Tuchel.
It was really a disappointing game to watch, Chelsea fans wouldn't be impressed with such performance. It is definitely Thomas Tuchel worst performance as Chelsea's boss. Chelsea failed to give in their best against Brighton and hove albion in yesterday's match and the boss (Tuchel) came out to tell the press why his team were not energetic in yesterdays match.
He said "I was affected, so I think the players were affected".
He also said "We talked about nothing else than the Super League."
Chelsea never really played like they needed all three points against Brighton, the blues never had that big chance of scoring in the match. Chelsea failed to launch threatening attacks on Brighton, Chelsea would have lost all three points as Brighton had better chances of scoring in the match but were denied the opportunity. Any Chelsea fan would agree that this was Chelsea's worst performance since Thomas Tuchel took over.
Would you agree with Thomas Tuchel that the players where distracted due to the on going European Super League chaos at that time? Chelsea dropped points yet again, a win against Brighton would have sent them to third place above Leicester City.
