Flying Eagle draw First Game in AFCON WAFU B Qualifier

The flying Eagle were yesterday Sunday 6th December, 2020, held 1-1 by Cote d' IVoire in their opening game at the under 20 African Cup of Nation AFCON, WAFU group B qualifiers in Benin Republic.

Nigerian under 20 Defender, Christopher Nwaeze, put the flying Eagle ahead a minute after an hour mark, when he headed home from Wisdom Ubani's free-kick and Coach Ladan Bosso side were reduced to 10 (ten) men 9th ( nineth) later, when Chris Nwaeze was sent off for the second bookable offence by the Ivorians Power Pressure on the eagle and equalized on the dot of 90th minute.

Peter Olawele, Chris Nwaeze, and Wisdom Ubani all wasted clear cut chances for the flying Eagle in the game.

The flying Eagle would not face perennial rival, the black satellite of Ghana in their final group B game on Wednesday, with host Benin Republic going down to 1-0 to Niger, while Togo and Burkina Faso battled it out to 1-1 draw.
