After a disappointing start to the season where he lost his opening three matches to Brentford, Manchester City and Chelsea, with the availability of his key players, the Spaniard was able to turn things around in September by winning all three matches.
His perfect record in the month of may saw him being nominated for the award, alongside Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool), Graham Potter (Brighton) and Dean Smith (Aston Villa), but at the end, he won the award.
After being presented with the award, the manager said that the award represents the way everyone at the club has been together, even when they were in difficult moments. A trophy deserved for the big man, and here are some reasons why I feel think Arteta deserves to win the award.
1. Going by statistics in the month of September, he was the only coach among the nominees, who won all three matches in that month, beating Norwich, Burnley and London rival, Tottenham.
2. He guided his team's defence very well, and as such, Arsenal conceded just one goal in three games. Liverpool, Brighton and Aston Villa conceded more goals in September.
3. Lastly, when you look at Arsenal team, you see that the club is filled with young talented players, who don't have much winning experiences as compared to other teams. For Arteta to use these young boys to win the match at Turf Moor (Burnley), it speaks a lot of what is yet to come from him.
As time goes on, his new signings will all get use to each other, and who knows, we may finally get to see a dominating Arsenal team once more.
