The month of September has been an entertaining month in the English Premier League, as we witnessed some convincing performances from the big teams, and also some excellent records being kept by the coaches of some fringe teams. Some managers performed greatly in September, but should Arteta, Pep Guardiola, Graham Potter and Thomas Frank he nominated for this month manager award?
Arsenal, in particular, is the team, who have turned their season around after three disappointing opening displays. Brighton also have been surprisingly good, as they kept an excellent record, and went close to topping the Premier League table.
There were some excellent performances by the players, but the coaches are the ones, who are to be applauded for their tactical brilliance. Without further ado, let's take a look at four coaches, who deserves to be nominated for the September's manager of the month award.
1. Graham Potter- Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.
Brighton currently sits in the top six position in the league table, and there is only one man to be applauded for it, Graham Potter. Even with limited resources and expensive players, the manager have complete transformed his side into a hard nut to crack. In a total of six matches so far this season, he guided his team to just one loss, one draw and four wins. For the month of September, he won two matches against Leicester and Brentford, but drew to Crystal Palace.
2. Mikel Arteta - Arsenal
After an awful start to the season, losing the opening three games, the Arsenal manager seem to have turned things around with four consecutive wins in all matches. The summer signings he made have all been proven excellent, as they have so far been able to execute his philosophy. In the month of September, the manager had three wins in three matches, defeating Norwich, Burnley and North London rivals, Tottenham. Surprisingly, the team conceded just one goal in three matches.
3. Pep Guardiola- Manchester City
One good thing that happened to Pep Guardiola this month is that, he was able to finally defeat Thomas Tuchel after several attempts. The 1-0 win against Chelsea makes him one of my favourite this month. In three games this September, he won two and drew one, scoring just two goals.
4. Thomas Frank- Brentford
Defeating Arsenal on the opening day of the League and holding Liverpool to a 3-3 draw is one decent record for a newly promoted side. Frank has properly drilled his team very well not to settle for less. He guided his team to a win against Wolverhampton despite a red card, a draw against Liverpool and a defeat to Brighton.
Do you think these coaches deserve nomination?
