Arsenal Rejects Galatasaray Bid For Midfielder

Arsenal are said to have turned down a Galatasaray bid for out-of-favour midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

The Egyptian international was unable to leave the Emirates before the English transfer window closed, but Turkish clubs have until Wednesday to sign players.

A possible deal to Fenerbahce fell through due to Elneny's wage demands, although Galatasaray, another Super Lig giant, is also in talks with Arsenal about a transfer.

According to reports, the Gunners turned down a deal from Galatasaray for Elneny, but the midfielder will still be allowed to go if a fair offer comes in.

Elneny did not look to have a future at Arsenal at one point, but he made 41 appearances in all competitions last season under Mikel Arteta, and he is now in the final year of his contract.

However, the 29-year-old suffered an injury while on international duty, and the Gunners may be two men short in midfield for Saturday's match against Norwich City due to Granit Xhaka's ban.
