Napoli football club of Italy star Victor Osimhen was the hero for the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Thursday night, as he scored a brace to guide them to a remarkable 2-0 victory over Liberia national team in the FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The former LOSC Lille football club star was given a starting role by coach Gernot Rohr, and he was able to impress in the game.
Victor Osimhen started in Super Eagles attack alongside Leicester City football club star Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon and the trio were superb in the game.
Napoli star Victor Osimhen opened scoring for the away team via a beautiful penalty kick in the 15th minutes to end the first half 1-0.
Both teams tried so hard to score more goals in the second half of the game, but all their efforts were not successful until the 90th minutes when Victor Osimhen netted another goal, to end the match 2-0.
Victor Osimhen was exceptional for the away team throughout the entire duration of the game, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with a brace.
The Nigerian international will now be looking forward to continuing his impressive performance for the Super Eagles when they play their next game on Tuesday evening.
The 2-0 victory over Liberia national team has now taken the Super Eagles of Nigeria to the top spot of their group table with 12 points from 15 matches played.
