The Nigerian international who has been striving to get back to his best form since returning from injury was given a starting role in the team's Midfield alongside Giuliano and Danijel Aleksic, and they were all fantastic for the Turkish Super League Champions, in their heavy victory.
Former Chelsea star Demba Ba opened scoring for the away team in the 8th minutes through an assist from Danijel Aleksic, while Bedat Bora equalized for the home team in the 34th minutes, before Ismail Konuk put the away team ahead in the 42nd minutes to end the first half 2-1.
Danijel Aleksic extended the away team's lead in the 73rd minutes through a fine teamwork from Nigerian Azubuike Okechukwu and Ugur Ucar, before Ravil Tagir and Irfan Kahveci scored two late goals to end the match 5-1 in favour of the Turkish Super League Champions.
Azubuike Okechukwu was outstanding for the away team and he was able to contribute to one of the goals scored by his teammates, while he also lasted the whole duration on the pitch.
The victory over Tuzlaspor FC has now taken Istanbul Basaksehir to the next stage of the Turkey Cup.
