Chelsea's Fellow Londoners Arsenal were tipped as the underdogs in their FA cup semifinal clash with Manchester City on Saturday but it was the gunners who later emerged victorious at the end of proceedings. Though said to be lucky against champions Liverpool earlier the week as they managed to capitalize on defensive and goalkeeping errors, Arsenal proved to be determined in their quest for silverware this season.
A brace from Aubameyang in the 19th and 71st minutes was all it took to see Guardiola's men off from the Emirates FA cup. Despite several attempts to get back into The game by their opponents, the gunners proved resolute with several clearances from David Luis and Martinez. The latter was responsible for cancelling out Manchester City's only short on target forcing their own goalie to a game without any saves.
Chelsea will play bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday in the remaining fixture of the Emirates FA semifinal clashes and just like their London counterparts, they are the underdogs in this match despite being ahead of Man United in the Premier league standings. Having lost to their rivals with an aggregate of 8-1 this season, they will hope to bounce back just like Arsenal who put their own bad record of losing seven out of the previous seven fixtures, conceding 20 and scoring just 2.
Therefore, the blues will look up to the gunners for inspiration at they go to battle tomorrow.
