ARG 1-0 BRA: Neymar In Tears As Argentine Players Celebrate With Messi After Winning The Copa America.

Today, football won. For the first time in 28 years, Argentina has finally won an international trophy. This is also Lionel Messi's first triumph on the international stage for the first time in his career

The Selecao was clearly the better side and even started the match on a strong note only to go behind to Angel Di Maria's deft chip on the 22nd minute.

Rodrigo de Paul was the architect of Argentina's lone goal with a pinpoint pass over Brazil's defence which Di Maria didn't hesitate to capitalize on as he lofted the ball beyond the reach of Ederson.

The host nation (Brazil) upped the tempo of the game and kept probing for an equaliser, with key man Neymar in the centre of action for his team.

As expected, rough treatments and tackles were in abundance as there were already 29 fouls and 3 yellow cards given after just 62 minutes of the game.

Neymar was one of the players on the receiving end of reckless challenges from the opposition and even saw his shorts shredded in such an intense match at the Maracana.

In the closing stages of the game, Argentina got few chances to wrap up the contest but somehow blew their goalscoring opportunities, with Messi guilty of missing in a one-on-one occasion.

But the Albicelestes held on to claim a historic win over Brazil and also match their rival's trophy cabinet.

At the sound of the final whistle, Argentine players rushed to Messi and celebrated him by throwing him up while Neymar was seen in tears.

Congrats to Lionel Messi who has now ended the wait for an international trophy, and at same time better luck to Neymar next time.
