Liverpool fans would be very happy after learning that their central defender Virgil Van Dijk is back training with a ball after a long term injury. Van Dijk picked up a back injury after a reckless tackle from Jordan Pickford in their Merseyside derby on the 17th of October last year.
His injury has forced Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp to be playing central midfielder fabinho in the central defense position and sometimes using young academy players. Liverpool has be hit with a lot of injury crises since Van Dijk injury. The have had players like Fabinho, Matip and Gomez all coming down with injuries. The latest midfield to be use as a central defender is Henderson. This has forced Liverpool down to 6th in premier league table.
The presence of Virgil Van Dijk in Liverpool defense would bring the much needed stability to the back line and let players like Fabinho and Henderson go back to their natural position in defensive midfield.
Liverpool host Everton next at the Anfield in a game that will surely bring back memories of their last encounter.
