The newly intiated Europa Conference League was introduced to accommodate countries in other European topflight leagues to have a feel of the Continental campaign as the widely known , Europa League, had limited slot for some leagues in Europe.

Nigerian international, Chuba Akpom, ranks amongst the first Nigerian to score in the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League as his goal propelled his Greek based outfit, PAOK Thessaloniki, to a huge win away from home against, Lincoln Red Lmps.
Another Nigerian, Henry Ezekiel, joined Akpom to rank amongst NIGERIAN'S to score in the Maiden edition of the newly introduced Europa Conference League.
The lanky foward goal for Slovan Bratislava , wasn't enough to lift his side from defeat as they suffered a heavy (1-3) defeat against Dannish side, FC Copenhagen.
