CHE 5-4 AVL: 2 Mistakes Thomas Tuchel Avoided As Chelsea Got Their 1st Win In The EFL

Chelsea played against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup today. The match was a very entertaining contest as both sides gave a Stellar performance. Chelsea claimed a win in the encounter as they were keen on qualifying for the next round. They won through penalties as the tie ended in a 5:4 win. The blues went into the game with a fit squad as they were keen on securing victory.

1) Using A Poor Lineup

In the defense, Thomas Tuchel started Reece James as the right-back, while Ben Chilwell was deployed as the left-back. The Chelsea head coach paired Sarr and Chalobah in a 4 man defensive wall along with Ben Chilwell and Reece James.

In the midfield, the Chelsea head coach started Ngolo Kante as a defensive midfielder, while Saul and Loftus-Cheek were used as central midfielders. The midfielders performed very well in the encounter as they supported the team both defensively and offensively.

In the attack, Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel used Timo Werner as the central striker. The striker played alongside Ziyech and Hudson Odoi in the forward line. Overall the team was in good shape.

2) Making Poor Substitutions
